Trekking World wish you all the best for your adventure and would like to offer a few tips which might help you through the trek:
10 Do and Do not’s for your Everest Trek.
1) Do drink lots of water on trek to counter the effects of the altitude.
2) Do not eat anything like salad or ice-cream, anything water based.
3) Do look after your feet with lots of sock changes.
4) Do not argue with the Sherpa and porters – your life could depend on them.
5) Do have a positive mental attitude which will help you through tough days.
6) Do not worry about the “Big Bang.” You will recover - EVENTUALLY!
7) Do buy lots of tacky jewellery and a T Shirts for your kids.
8) Do not tell everyone your life story at the airport - you’ve 18 more days together!
9) Do bring back a rock from Base Camp and send to Trekking World as most of our
samples gave gone!
10) Do not worry when the plane lands at LUKHLA -that wall is meant to be at the end of the runway and the plane will turn and stop!

The Fight to Lukhla- just keep your eyes open and don’t panic! The amazing suspension bridges over the Dudh Kosi.
Namche Bazaar the Sherpa capital in its magnificent mountain bowl.
The mountains surrounding you. Look for the beautiful Ama Dablam.
Thangboche Monastery, home of the monks. Try and join their ceremonies.
The Milky Way, really prominent as you gain altitude.
The noodle soup at the lodge in Gorak Shep at 5184m.
The summit of Kalar Patar and the best view of Everest. A celebratory meal in the famous RUM DOODLES. This is a famous bar where Everest Summiteers can eat and drink for free for life! |
