Directions
From US 3 north of I-93, NH, From Route 302 turn onto Base Road, approximately 4.5 miles east from Route 3 in Twin Mountain. Follow Base Road approximately 4.5 miles to the intersection with the Jefferson Notch and Mt. Clinton Roads. Turn left onto the Jefferson Notch Road for 3.3 miles to the parking lot / trailhead. 

Location Information
The Caps Ridge Trail is the highest trailhead on a public road in the White Mountains. The trail starts at 3,008' elevation (902 m) in the parking lot at the height-of-land on the Jefferson Notch Road and ends on the summit of Mt. Jefferson, elevation 5,715'. Trail length is 2.5 miles (4 km). The trail is steep, rough, wet and rocky and tends to be difficult to negotiate.
