Walking in the Jungfrau Region |
With around 300km of prepared walking and hiking trails the Jungfrau Region is one of the best loved areas in Switzerland among walkers and hikers. The trails range from easy and gentle for older walkers or families with small children, to difficult for the experienced hiker, explore the walking areas of Grindelwald, Wengen and Murren. The region abounds with cable cars, mountain railways and postal buses to make it easy for hikers and walkers to get around.
Take advantage of the Jungfraubahnen Pass which gives free access for 6 consecutive days to the public transport system of the region with exception of excursion trains such as the Jungfraujoch and the Schilthorn where a 50% discount is offered. The hiking map offers 76 different sign-posted walks and hikes in the area ranging from 30 minutes to 5+ hours. The Jungfrau Region offers fantastic walking with magnificent views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, please follow the links below for a selection of walks.
