Cotswold Way Start: Bath - Grid Ref: ST 741643 The Cotswold Way follows the steep western escarpment of the Cotswold Hills, there are magnificent views of the Vale of Severn from many vantage points such as Haresfield Beacon, Birdlip Hill and Cleeve Common, the scenery is beautiful with many picturesque villages built in Cotswold stone. The route passes a number of historical sites, including several Iron Age hill forts, the Belas Knap Neolithic burial mound and the fascinating ruins of Hailes Abbey, you also pass some grand historic houses at Dyrham Park and Sudeley Castle. The walk terminates in the quaint picturesque market town of Chipping Camden. |
